We are all big big fans of...

I was watching the my little pony comic con panel [link] {WARNING SEASON 3 SPOILERS} and found the Hasbro employee's response to the whole "Derpy gate" fiasco kinda funny. Of course this is where I got the idea from. He didn't, (or more likely was told not to) use the name Derpy, though you could tell he (and to that extent Hasbro themselves) cared as much about the character as we do. "And no, we do not think she did anything wrong." *Crowd cheers*

The TL;DR version? Hasbro loves her, the fans love her, and she is pretty much confirmed to be in more background shots, though the likely hood of a speaking role is slim. Should also note that a lot of the recent advertising around Comic Con and such does have Depry in it. (And not just hidden in the background but clearly visible.) She isn't going anywhere. And as the guy said, "Who knows what the future holds."

And seeing as the official Derpy toys sold out in about ten seconds flat, that should send some message to Hasbro that there is a CRAZY amount of demand for her.
